Project
The construction of the Trans-Gambia Bridge is part of the West-African road infrastructures development plan, which was launched and financed by the African Development Bank. More precisely, within the Dakar-Lagos highway project.
Following 3 years of works, the new 942m-long bridge replaces the previous ferry line in Farafeny, 100km from Banjul, that causes continuous delays of up to several days due to the heavy naval traffic.
The services provided by the setec tpi & Studi International joint venture is divided in two stages:
- First, an optimisation and update of a previous project for the bridge and the access roads, the elaboration of the tendering technical and contractual documents, launch of the construction contract ITT, analysis of the tenders and contract award.
- Second, a site supervision of the works undertaken by our partners from Studi International, supported by our experts from setec tpi for the construction of the deck and its foundations.

- Review of a previous project for the bridge and the proposal of its optimisation (deck and supports)
- Elaboration of the tendering documents for the construction contract to be financed by the African Development Bank.
- Contractors’ tenders’ analysis and role of Advisor to Gambia’s Highways Authority.
- Site expertise for the construction of the deck and its foundations.
