Valenciennes Northern Bypass: Opening of the eastern section

On 6 March 2023, the Valenciennes Métropole Northern Bypass project saw the opening of its eastern section, on which work began in June 2017.

This event marked the opening to traffic of the section linking the Saint Saulve grade-separated roundabout to the Raismes underpass via the TOARC. The opening ceremony took place at the metal bow-string bridge, which spans the Escaut over a length of 75.50 metres, as the flagship structure of one of the most significant projects in the Nord department and the most eagerly awaited in the Valenciennes area for some thirty years now.

Setec TPI and Setec International were responsible for the full project management of this first 2.2 km section on behalf of the Nord Department.
