Bio-based and Geo-based

Building with environmentally responsible materials to tackle the climate emergency

The world is undergoing profound changes driven by a growing awareness of the ecological imperative. Tackling the climate emergency, strengthening the resilience of local areas and transforming the way we build are now key priorities.

For over 60 years, setec tpi has been applying its expertise to ambitious and innovative projects. Aware of the environmental footprint of civil engineering structures, we are taking action to reduce it by incorporating more bio-based and geosourced materials into our designs.

Wood, a renewable material that naturally sequesters CO₂, is emerging as a key solution for reducing the carbon footprint of structures. In addition to its positive environmental impact, it offers genuine technical advantages: lightweight structures, rapid assembly, prefabrication and reduced disruption during the construction phase.

Our teams are also working on projects using load-bearing stone, a local material that is readily available and has a low carbon footprint.

Our approach aims to design sustainable and responsible buildings and structures, combining structural performance, technical standards and reduced environmental impact to meet the new challenges of construction.
