As part of the 200-home development project in Bry-sur-Marne, setec tpi is committed to promoting the use of geosourced materials by incorporating solid natural stone into the design of the façades.
A visit to the Noyant Quarries enabled the teams to explore the entire production chain, from underground extraction to the processing of the blocks, and to gain an understanding of the technical constraints involved in working with this material. This immersive experience also highlighted recent industrial developments, with state-of-the-art production facilities that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern efficiency.
Beyond its architectural qualities, solid stone now addresses key challenges in the construction sector: reducing the carbon footprint, ensuring the durability of structures and making the most of local resources. Its use, however, requires a detailed understanding of the interfaces and installation conditions, which lie at the heart of the expertise developed by setec tpi.
