Villejuif – Gustave Roussy station, built as part of the Grand Paris Express project, has been awarded the 2025 Prix Versailles in the ‘Stations’ category. This international award recognises outstanding contemporary achievements in architecture and design worldwide each year.
The teams at setec tpi, who were involved in the project management of the scheme alongside Dominique Perrault Architecture, the Société des Grands Projets and T/E/S/S engineering consultancy, have contributed to the design and construction of this major piece of infrastructure for the Île-de-France network.
A complex structure at the heart of the Grand Paris Express
Situated at the junction of lines 14 and 15 of the Grand Paris Express, Villejuif – Gustave Roussy station is a large-scale underground structure, designed to eventually accommodate nearly 100,000 passengers a day. It plays a key role in organising transport links in the south of the Paris metropolitan area.
The station’s design required the implementation of ambitious engineering solutions to integrate deep underground infrastructure, passenger flows and urban integration. The structure is organised around a monumental shaft and major vertical circulation routes, ensuring clear route guidance and the smooth flow of movement.
Recognition for engineering in major projects
The award of the Prix Versailles recognises the architectural quality of the project as well as the collective excellence of the teams involved. It follows on from the 2025 Grand Prix National de l’Ingénierie, awarded to setec for this project.
This recognition highlights the ability of setec tpi’s teams to design and oversee the construction of complex transport infrastructure, supporting the development of mobility and the transformation of regions.
